Government & Politics Government since 1982 Paul Biya of the Popular Democratic Alliance (APDC ). The APDC also won control of Parliament in 1992 Bija and was reelected that year and in 1997 . The main opposition group, the SDF , has questioned the outcome of these elections. In 1997, its candidate, John Ndi rejected the victory of Bija.
